#27: This is Halloween.

Post by Kagoma_Kage » Fri 3rd Oct 2008

Ok it's that time of the year again guys, the (unofficial) Most Wonderful Time Of the Year!
So I'm sure alot of you have costumes on your minds, well, you're not alone.
It seems the majority of the Fowl cast have found themselves stuck for ideas, and in what can only be described as an act of temporary insanity are turning to the FG users for advice.
So, your task this time is to come up with Halloween costumes for as many of the characters as you can, costumes that you feel relate to them in some way.
Group costumes that actually fit the group's dynamics will be awarded a bonus point if they land in the top three.
Feel free to crossover as much as you like there, and dress them from other books, television series films and theater. It's not required but if it's something from another fandom I'd love to see reference images of your costumes too.
Happy Halloween Everyone!

I'll enter!

Juliet- Sumo wrestler (because she loves wrestling, fighting.. That would be kinda obvious.)

Holly- Human woman police officer (If you're slow, I guess I'll give you an explanation. SHE'S A LOWER ELEMENT POLICE OFFICER.)

Artemis - Medieval evil prince. (He was like that in the first book.)

Butler- Gangster. (Wouldn't that be a sight to see? XD)

Minerva - Medieval princess. (She is medieval!)

Root - A turnip.   (DUH, because of the color he turns when he gets angry.)

Beckett and Myles - The twin towers. (DUH!! They're twins.)

No. 1 - Harry Potter. (Obviously, because he's a warlock, and Harry's a wizard.)

What'shisfaceNo1's Instructor- Professor Dumbledore. XD (Cause he teaches No. 1, and No. 1 is a warlock, and Harry's a wizard and Dumbledore teaches Harry.)

EDIT: There, I added explanations.

@ HS9 - It's Qwan. :P

Anyway...

Butler - Pirate costume
He likes to sail the world with a bottle of rum... And have no responsibility over Artemis for once.

Artemis - Prisoner
He wants to know how he could end up if he continues with his evil, evil plans.

Holly - Princess
She wouldn't mind getting saved herself sometimes, instead of saving everyone...

No1 - Flamingo dress
Orange wasn't his colour, but he still liked the skirt. Maybe red and black will be.

Foaly - LEP officer
Now he can yell at himself for once.

Opal - Queen from Snow White
Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all?

Myles - Monkey suit
He wants to know how being Beckett feels like.

Beckett - Einstein suit.
He wants to know how being Myles feels like.

Mulch - Matter-Eating Lad
He already eats about everything, so what's the difference?

Thanks for the entries guys.
For anyone not clear on this you don't have to enter all your costumes at once to count them as a group.
A group is any two matching costumes from the same series.
But single character entries are fine.

I know my entries don't count here but I can't resist.
I desperately want to see Holly dress as Selina from Author and the Invisibles.
If Holly was just a touch less conservative, they could be almost twins.

Plus both are warriors in their own respects and both have a taste for human boys.

Well, mine aren't really matching *I think*, but does an explanation also give you extra points? *puppydogeyes* :P

Sorry Meova, but that part is kinda...mandatory without it I wouldn't know why everyone picked what they did.
*Wills more people to enter.*

Hmm. The reason I asked is because HS9 doesn't have explanations... If I remember correctly. *checks* Well, not explanations, but it still is pretty clear why she choose them... :( :P

So are you just supposed to list them or are you supposed to draw them too?

Star, I think you can just list them, but it might be helpful if you don't do a costume like a pirate or princess or gangster or something everyone would know what it looked like if you draw it.

You only have to list it, but feel free to draw it too if you want.
I would love to see some non genaric costumes. (From other series.) Before this contest is done.

Haven't been on here in AGES. But, here are my ideas .... on a superhero theme :D

Holly - Supergirl
She's the tough, fiery heroine who saves everyone even if they don't necessarily deserve it. Plus Supergirl can fly, which Holly loves.

Artemis - Braniac (The Brain Interactive Construct)
Braniac is a super-genius computer who started out as a villian, but Braniac 5 used his "twelfth-level intellect" for the forces of good and joined the Legion of Superheroes alongside Supergirl - much like Arty changed over the series thanks to Holly.

Foaly - Batman
Batman has no actual superpowers except for his incredible super-genius-intelligence. He also invented all his handy little gadgets himself!

Trouble - The Green Lantern
The Green Lantern Corps are an intergalatic police force that protect the innocent, much like the LEP.

Butler - Ben Grimm, AKA The Thing (Fantastic Four)
The Thing has superhuman strength and endurance, and although he acts stern and frightening he is really a kind person - kinda like Butler. The Thing also looks out for his teammates, as Butler protects Holly and Artemis and their friends.

Juliet - Black Canary
The Black Canary is noted for her courage, fighting prowess and sex appeal, leading to her being referred to as The Blonde Bombshell - who better for Juliet to dress up as?

No1 - Doctor Manhattan
One of the Watchmen, after a nuclear physics experiments went awry
Doctor Manhattan gained godlike powers that are very like No1's incredible magic.

Opal - Viper, AKA Madame Hydra
A supervillainess who has been associated with many criminal and terrorist organisations, much like Opal was involved with the B'wa K'ell. She is also a nihilist and has her own criminal organisation ... kind of like Opal.

That was all I could think of. That was fun! Hope you like it.

Kagoma, shouldn't you judge it soon? It's almost December, which means time for a Christmas challenge... Halloween is long over.

Sorry about the absence.

The winner this time is...
Soulcatcher: because you best used the group theme idea, and because you show the signs of a budding comic book nerd, in which case, you deserve the points, because the world is not kind enough to comic nerds. :)

In second place is...
Meova
Because you put some good thought into the reasoning behind your costumes, Butler is a favorite, but No1 made me smile.

And third...
HollyShort9 (Because she watches the forum for me so nicely while I'm away.)
Actually, it's also because I like the Harry Potter references.
